“Oltre il visibile abita la verità” (Beyond the Visible, Truth Dwells) is a textured artwork by Elisa Aiassa that invites the viewer to look beyond surface appearances to uncover what lies at the heart of being. The canvas unfolds as a landscape of emerging forms — faces, indistinct silhouettes and fluid shapes that seem to rise from the material itself, as if truth is gradually revealing itself through layers of matter.

The use of plaster and paper creates a sense of lightness and protection, while the fabric and natural stones introduce rich tactile layers that evoke the sensory experience of the real world. These elements, combined with touches of metal, suggest the idea of body and spirit emerging between surfaces and depths, between the visible and the invisible.

The title of the work captures the core of Aiassa’s artistic inquiry: the belief that what truly matters — truth, essence, and a deep connection with oneself and the universe — often resides beyond what is immediately perceptible. The forms evoke human presences that seem to emerge or dissolve, in a play of light and shadow that reflects the tension between the conscious and the unconscious, between experience and intuition.

The choice of a predominantly white palette is intentional: white speaks of purity, openness, possibility, and also of a field of awareness where truth is not fixed but constantly evolving. The natural materials ground the work in earth and physicality, while the smooth and textured surfaces recall the movement of thought, emotion, and idea.

“Beyond the Visible, Truth Dwells” stands as a visual and symbolic exploration of the deep connections between what we see and what we perceive, between form and meaning, and between matter and spirit — a contemplative artistic meditation on discovering what lies beneath the surface of everyday reality.
