Number Nine
The artist's vision
“I Can Reach Everything” represents collective consciousness: it inspires and helps, almost as though it were an angelic being. As the highest number of the triad, it represents “fulfilment and rebirth”. The Liberator.

Artist
Elisa Aiassa is an Italian painter who transforms matter with an alchemical touch, creating works of art that reveal the beauty of metamorphosis. The number 3 is the leitmotif of her material and pictorial creations.

In Number Nine, Elisa Aiassa takes The Numbers Cycle towards a dimension of fulfilment, awareness, and rebirth. If the preceding numbers have accompanied the journey from the affirmation of the self towards exploration, knowledge, and the ability to act in the world, Nine represents the moment of synthesis: what has been learned and experienced now opens towards a broader, collective, and universal dimension.
The composition is built around a large central circular form, within which the number 9 emerges. Enclosed by fine concentric golden lines, the circle assumes an almost cosmic presence: a space of gathering and transformation, a nucleus in which previous experiences seem to converge and give rise to a new awareness.
The surface of the canvas is characterised by a strong material contrast. On either side, dark vertical bands, created through layers and folds of fabric, frame a central golden section. The contrast between black, white, and gold creates an intense visual rhythm, in which matter appears to open and close around the core of the number.
Above and below the central circle are two elongated, dark forms crossed by pale vertical elements. Their symmetrical arrangement introduces a sense of axis and balance, almost suggesting an energetic passage running through the entire composition. Small stones and metallic details interrupt the surface, adding further material and symbolic traces.
Within the artist’s language, Nine represents collective consciousness, a dimension capable of inspiring, supporting, and helping. This idea resonates particularly strongly with the structure of the work: the number does not appear in isolation, but is embedded within a system of forms, lines, and materials that surround and sustain it. The angelic being evoked by Elisa thus becomes a symbolic presence, not necessarily represented through a human figure, but suggested through the ideas of protection, elevation, and connection.
Nine is also the highest number of the triad, and therefore assumes the meaning of fulfilment and rebirth. The central circle can be read precisely as the site of this transition: an ending that does not coincide with a conclusion, but with the transformation necessary for something new to emerge.
The choice of materials — plaster, acrylic, metals, natural stones, and textiles — makes this process of layering visible. The different surfaces coexist without losing their individual identities, creating a work in which matter, symbol, and perceptual space meet. The fabric, with its folds and irregularities, introduces an almost organic dimension; gold brings light and value; the metallic elements add structure and tension.
In Number Nine, I Can Reach Everything can be read as an affirmation that transcends the individual dimension. To reach everything does not simply mean achieving every goal, but recognising the possibility of completing a journey and transforming acquired experience into a form of openness towards others.
The archetypal figure of The Liberator represents this concluding phase: one who, through the awareness attained, is able to open a new space, both for themselves and for the collective. The Liberator does not close the journey, but frees what is ready to be reborn.
Nine is fulfilment opening onto rebirth. It is individual consciousness expanding into the collective dimension, experience becoming inspiration. It is the Liberator.
