Elisa Aiassa is an Italian artist who transforms matter with an alchemical touch, creating works of art that reveal the beauty of metamorphosis. The number 3 is the leitmotif of her material and pictorial creations.

Master Number 44, within Elisa Aiassa’s The Numerical Alphabet of Existence, introduces a profound dimension of harmonisation, in which matter, energy, and consciousness enter into relationship in search of a greater equilibrium. While 22 represents the ability to materialise a vision and 33 expresses the elevation of awareness, 44 takes this exploration towards integration: the moment when the different forces of existence can find correspondence and contribute to a unified reality.

The artwork is built around a large circular form with a white, layered, richly materic surface. At its centre, the number 44 emerges in metal, enclosed within a concentric structure that appears to embrace and protect it. The circular forms unfold like waves radiating from a central nucleus, suggesting a continuous movement of expansion and return, exchange and rebalancing.

Around the centre, elongated metallic elements in gold and silver cross the surface along dynamic diagonal lines. Their movement contrasts with the circularity of the composition, introducing a tension between direction and continuity, impulse and stability. Small spiral-shaped elements, distributed across different areas of the work, further evoke the idea of energy in motion and forces that attract and influence one another.

The dominant white creates a suspended, contemplative atmosphere, while the interplay between gold and silver introduces a luminous duality. The two tones do not stand in rigid opposition, but coexist within a unified visual system. Matter, with its folds, raised textures, and irregularities, thus becomes the space in which differences can meet without losing their individual identities.

In the illuminated version, LED light runs through the concentric structure, outlining luminous paths around the number. The central nucleus appears to activate from within, while the light travels through the different layers, revealing a movement that, in the unilluminated version, is conveyed through form and matter alone. Light therefore assumes a symbolic function: it connects the different components and suggests the presence of a force capable of moving through them and bringing them into harmony.

The title “I Harmonise” expresses the central principle of Master Number 44: to harmonise does not mean eliminating differences, but recognising the relationships that allow them to coexist. It is a process of listening, integration, and rebalancing, in which each element finds its place within a wider whole. Harmony is therefore not a static condition, but a continuous movement that requires sensitivity, presence, and awareness.

The archetypal figure of The Shaman embodies this ability to move between different dimensions and create connections between what appears separate. Within the symbolic exploration of the work, the Shaman represents a mediator: one who listens to energies, recognises correspondences, and seeks balance between the inner and outer worlds, matter and spirit, the individual and the universe. Their role is not to impose order, but to foster a deeper relationship between the different aspects of existence.

Through the use of plaster, acrylic, natural stones, LED lighting, and metals, the mixed-media technique contributes to the construction of this visual language. The material layers embody the complexity of the forces moving through the work, while the metallic elements introduce direction, rhythm, and structure. Light, in turn, makes perceptible the immaterial dimension that permeates matter, creating a dialogue between physical presence and energy.

Within the exploration of the Master Numbers, 44 completes a journey that engages not only sight, but also sound and olfactory essences. The music, interpreted and recorded by Trio Armonie di Gran Classe, enters into dialogue with the artwork as an autonomous language, rather than merely illustrating its meaning. Matter, light, sound, and scent thus contribute to the creation of a multisensory experience, in which the encounter between different languages can generate a perceptual and inner transformation.

It is through this possibility of connection that Elisa Aiassa’s search for catalysis takes shape: the artwork does not simply invite observation, but encourages the viewer to engage with what they perceive, recognising harmony not as a definitive answer, but as a process that is always unfolding.

In Master Number 44, to harmonise means recognising that each element acquires a deeper meaning through its relationship with others. It is the ability to listen to differences, integrate opposing forces, and rediscover a sense of unity without erasing complexity.

44 is relationship becoming harmony. It is energy finding balance, matter entering into resonance with spirit. It is The Shaman.
