Elisa Aiassa is an Italian artist who transforms matter with an alchemical touch, creating works of art that reveal the beauty of metamorphosis. The number 3 is the leitmotif of her material and pictorial creations.

With Master Number 11, Elisa Aiassa opens a new threshold within The Numerical Alphabet of Existence. While the first nine numbers trace the different stages of an individual journey — from “I Am” to fulfilment — 11 introduces a further dimension, in which the number is no longer simply a symbol, but becomes a perceptual field capable of connecting matter, energy, sound, and perception.
The work takes the form of a large circular shape, almost like a cosmic body or planet, constructed through a richly materic and layered surface. At its centre, the number 11 emerges in an essential, geometric form, while numerous golden and silver metallic spheres are distributed across the surface, together with darker circular forms that appear to emerge from the matter.
The arrangement of these elements creates a kind of astral map. The spheres appear as bodies in relationship with one another, while the circular forms embedded within the surface evoke traces, orbits, presences, or energetic nuclei. The work therefore does not establish a rigidly geometric order, but rather a system in which each element seems to belong to a wider network.
The circular character of the composition assumes particular importance. The circle, already a recurring element in Aiassa’s artistic research, evokes here ideas of wholeness, cyclicality, and continuity, but also of a space without a definitive centre or periphery. The number 11 occupies the centre of this field, almost like a key that organises and runs through the matter.
The metallic spheres introduce a reflective and dynamic dimension. Gold and silver alternate across the surface, creating points of light that alter the perception of the work according to the viewer’s position. Matter therefore does not remain static: it responds to light and to the gaze, making the experience of the artwork variable and perceptual.
This characteristic takes on particular significance within the research of the Master Numbers. Elisa Aiassa does not conceive these works as simple visual representations of a number. From this stage onwards, matter becomes one level of a broader experience, accompanied by sound, frequencies, and olfactory essences. The collaboration with Trio Armonie di Gran Classe, which interpreted and recorded the musical compositions associated with the four Master Numbers, therefore carries the work beyond the exclusively visual dimension.
Music is not conceived as a soundtrack to the artwork, but as a second perceptual form of matter. Matter and music do not explain one another: they encounter one another. It is precisely within this encounter between different languages that Elisa Aiassa seeks what she defines as a catalysis: a space in which the artwork no longer simply remains before the viewer, but can begin to take place within them.
The light present in the second version of the work further reveals this transformation. The luminous edge appears to activate the perimeter of the circle, as though the matter were containing an internal energetic source. The artwork thus moves from a purely object-based presence towards an almost environmental and immersive condition.
Master Number 11 therefore becomes a threshold: not simply something to observe or interpret, but a device through which to enter into relationship with a subtler dimension of perception.
At this new stage of her research, the canvas is no longer sufficient. Matter becomes the first level of an experience that progressively engages sight, sound, and smell, in an attempt to approach what normally remains invisible.
11 marks the opening of a new threshold. Matter becomes experience, the number becomes frequency, and the artwork becomes a catalyst for perception.
